Dr. Dean Chou, a neurosurgeon, specializes in complex spine surgery. He treats spinal deformities such as scoliosis, kyphosis, kyphoscoliosis and flatback syndrome. He also treats spinal tumors and degenerative conditions of the spine, including spondylolisthesis and stenosis. He is an expert in minimally invasive surgery, which he applies to the treatment of complex spinal disorders.
A graduate of the UCSF School of Medicine, Chou completed a neurosurgery residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and a fellowship in complex spinal surgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and was selected by his peers as one of the Best Doctors in America for six consecutive years.
Chou is a charter member of the Spine Oncology Study Group, an international consortium of experts in the field. He teaches and lectures both nationally and internationally.
