Ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist

Yen Cheng (Joey) Hsia, MD

Dr. Yen Cheng (Joey) Hsia is an ophthalmologist who specializes in treating glaucoma in adults. He performs minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries and a range of cataract surgeries. His expertise encompasses complex cataract procedures such as those that are combined with glaucoma surgery.

Hsia's research interests include how to improve outcomes in glaucoma surgery and understanding glaucoma among patients with high levels of myopia, or nearsightedness.

Hsia earned his medical degree at Case Western Reserve University and then completed a residency in ophthalmology and a fellowship in glaucoma at UCSF. He belongs to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Glaucoma Society, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He is a member of the Society of Heed Fellows.

In his free time, Hsia enjoys traveling, cooking and scuba diving, as well as spending time with his family and dog.
