Meniscus: Intrasubstance Tear

Nicholas Colyvas, MD, presents a case study of 28-year-old hiker and cyclist who sustained an intrasubstance tear in her medial meniscus. After undergoing an arthroscopy at another institution, medial-sided pain continued. Through advanced imaging, she received an accurate diagnosis at UCSF, underwent an arthroscopic procedure to repair the tear, and was pain-free six months post-op.
