The Incidental Adrenal Mass: Workup Guide for a Common Finding

A frequent guest star on abdominal images taken to assess other conditions, an adrenal mass may be benign or serious, such as pheochromocytoma – making workup essential. Endocrine surgeon Sanziana Roman, MD, FACS, walks through the diagnostic steps (explaining why biopsy is rarely useful), shows both normal and abnormal images to elucidate meaningful findings, and lays out the criteria for adrenalectomy. Bonus: Watch a video of an adrenal mass dissection.
